Department of Special Education 01

The special school aims to give each child the best possible skills to have an independent life from toddlerhood to adult hood. After detailed clinical assessment and considering mental age, performance and nature of the ability of children they are classified into different groups such as pre-primary, primary, secondary, pre- vocational and vocational. Apart from regular special educational activities we are focusing on co-curricular activities like arts & craft, dance, sports, and conducting monthly outing to places of importance to have an overall personal and social growth of our children. Individualized Educational Program (IEP) sets personalized goals for each student and its tailored to the students different ability. Our teachers work closely with parents to promote learning at home. They are always in touch with other professionals like psychologists, speech therapists, occupational and physiotherapists and medical doctors, whenever the need arises, to make the child benefitted optimally from our school. KESAC special school created a benchmark in the field of special education through a unique way of teaching and training.

Department of Vocational02

Improving vocational training and employment opportunities for people with different ability is a critical element for enhancing the quality of life for individual with different abilities and their families. KESAC has taken an initiative in this regard by creating facilities for the training of the differently abled in various trades. Students are assessed for ability and interest in selected vocational area at Vocational Training Unit – KESAC. The areas of training are varied and dynamic based on the individual needs of every trainee.

Department of Clinical Psychology 03

Comprehensive clinical psychology services such as intellectual and functional assessments and intervention programs for person with disabilities are provided here. Family system approach is widely used to get the child to be accepted in the family in terms of his/her physical, emotional and psychological differences from others. Apart from the intervention model for the children, the family members are also guided through various training programs to enhance the total quality of life of the family as a whole.

Our psychological intervention services include Behavior Modification Therapies, Cognitive Behavior therapies, cognitive Rehabilitation, Couple/Marital Therapies, Family Therapy, Social Skill Training, Remedial Education For Learning issues, Study Habits and Skills Training. Other outpatient services of the department Includes Hypnotherapy, Sex Therapy, Anger Management and Stress Management.

Department of Speech Therapy 04

Our speech-language pathology services focus on the early identification, evaluation, and rehabilitation of speech, language, communication, hearing, and feeding difficulties. We cater to all age groups, including pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics, ensuring comprehensive care and support for individuals at every stage of life.

Department of Audiology 05

Our audiology department specializes in diagnosing, evaluating, and treating hearing and balance disorders for patients of all ages. We offer comprehensive services, including hearing tests, hearing aid fitting, maintenance and custom ear protection. Additionally, we provide aural rehabilitation and hearing conservation programs to enhance listening and communication skills and prevent hearing loss.

Department of Occupational Therapy 06

Occupational therapy is a treatment approach for persons with mental and physical limitations; enable them to perform the activities alone, with limited help or with the use of assistive devices. Childhood is hopeful, joyful and ever new. The playfulness and the joy of childhood create the context for occupational therapy with children. The occupational therapist is involved in both improving the child’s skill and adapting the environment to promote functional performance. Daily activities can best be analyzed and adapted with in contexts familiar to the child. Our therapists recognize the potential of each child and help the child reach the potential through therapeutic application of activity and adaptation of environment.

Department of Physiotherapy 07

Physiotherapy commonly use exercise in conjunction with hands on treatment to facilitate development. Our physiotherapy department is equipped to treat different super specialized fields like neurological condition, musculo-skeletal and cardio respiratory. Physiotherapy department at K E Safiya autism centre is committed to help patients to recover and rehabilitate them as soon as possible. We encourage the family and caregivers to play an active role in bringing the patients back to near normal. The physiotherapy department at K E Safiya Austism Centre provides a comprehensive range of rehabilitative services which put us on the forefront of physiotherapy in New Mahe and the immediate region.
